Outdoor activities
There are so many ways to experience the outdoors in the Blairgowrie area or by using Brooklinn Mill as a base to get further afield. There really is something for everyone from scenic drives through Glenshee and the Angus Glens to horse-riding, cycling, walking, or adventure activities.
Walking
There are a wealth of walks in and around the Blairgowrie area or easily accessible by using Brooklinn Mill as a base for your adventures. There is the Cateran trail, a 64 mile long circular walk based on drover's roads which starts in Blairgowrie, and passes by Brooklinn Mill as it wends its way to Bridge of Cally, Enochdhu, the Spittal of Glenshee and Alyth. A number of other local walks also pass by the front door.
Easy access to the Cairngorms, Grampians, Angus Glens and highland Perthshire also makes Brooklinn Mill a perfect base. For those looking for a challenging day out, Lochnagar is accessible within a 1 hour drive. Or what about making the most of the extra daylight during summer and tackling Beinn a' Ghlo?
For those looking for a gentler outing, the woods around Dunkeld and the Atholl Estate have a wealth of beautiful walks, many on marked trails. So there really is something for walkers of all abilities.
In addition, every October Blairgowrie is the centre for the week-long East Perthshire Walking Festival which promotes a wide range of walks in the area to suit all abilities. Some of the walks are guided.
